Artist Statement

I started working with glass at the University of Hertfordshire in 2005. My current work explores the boundaries that define the social, cultural and spiritual spaces we occupy. I use glass as a medium to capture, combine and project colours, light, shadow, patterns and images that give us pause for thought.

Some of my work is showing as part of the exhibition ‘Making Words’ at Bilston Craft Gallery and Museum, West Midlands Jan-April 2006. ‘Spit’ is an installation of glass pieces that uses text and image that reference boxing and hip hop to stimulate debate on the context within which we consume the image of the black male.
