ARTISTS STATEMENT:

Charlie Franklin
Middlesex University: Fine Art BA (2002-2005)

Using the methods of sculpture and installation, I am currently investigating site specific work, whether it be in the natural landscape or built up urban areas. My practice is concerned with the methods of integrating materials into an already existing environment, hopefully adding to it rather than detracting from the original features. I am taking an increasingly playful view of my work, consentrating on the themes of controlled chaos and contrasts. My predominant materials are fabrics, canvas, string and found objects.
