Artist Statement:

My name is Chris Hodson and I am currently a 2nd year Fine Art student at BIAD.
Using predoninantly cartoon like imagery I explore scale, humour through the constructionof models and dioramas which are often placed in a real world context and photographed. I like to confuse people, it forces them to engage more with the work.

I use a wide range of materials including: felt, plasticene, cardboard, acrylic paint,
glass, wood, wire and anything else i can get my hands on that may be useful.
I use traditional 35mm cameras and film, although recently have been enhancing images with Photoshop.

I take inspiration from everyday objects, events and more recently Movies, television
and other aspects of modern Britain. I drew upon childhood memories and psychology to create the first set of images (molly, stains etc.) The rest are part of a recent body
of work in which I am exploring what happens when real objects meet a completely
fabricated world.
