Artist Statement Since my graduation i have been very busy doing freelance work for a local book publisher and creating promotional web material for an Internet company. I am also in the process of contacting various magazines to hopefully get my work featured so i can get as much exposure as possible at this stage in my career. I pride myself on my versatility and take pleasure in creating art through many different mediums, for both print and screen. Due to the nature of my degree a lot of my work comes from an initial given brief, however i enjoy this process as i believe it adds a functional element to my work. Most of my ideas and inspirations have come from academic classes, readings, films, and societal observations. My current visual influences draw from retro computer game art, I am intrigued by the creative element involved in working pixel by pixel with what can sometimes be a restrictive medium. I also draw a lot of inspiration from street graphics, i love the degenerative imagery found in old work and i appreciate how a good piece can work with it's environment activating the space around it rejuvenating it in the process. It is this quality i try and emulate in my own work. My work has been exhibited at the Nottingham Trent University and also at the Business Design Center in London. At this stage in my career i want to take advantage of any opportunity that may arise and gain as much exposure as possible. My passion is art and design and it is my ambition to carve a successful career out of it, I keep hold of the belief that anything is possible if you work hard enough and stay focused.
