Artist Statement

The glass pieces are somewhat puzzle-like with the placement of each piece of glass being dependent on what came before it. Although the pieces are inherently fragile, they are also sharp and I can attest to their capacity to draw blood. Lighting changes the mood and character of these pieces as shadows are emphasized / de-emphasized depending on the direction and amount of light. You may see the jagged, you may see the bulbous and fluffy, you may see the blood. Or you may see a bunch of broken glass...

The peace signs are quite simply my view of what peace is today. Except for the use of camouflage, the peace sign you see from a distance is your garden-variety peace sign. Moving in, you notice sign is made of small plastic armed men. The symbolism is not subtle so I will refrain from comment in this direction.
