PRESS RELEASE Uri
Gellar and leading US Outsider Artist, Anne Grgich, to exhibit there work
at Inspired Art Fair 2003. In the 1970’s Uri was a pupil of surrealist master, Salvador Dali, a great mentor and source of inspiration. Peter Max, Andy Warhol, and Picasso (who Uri met with) have also influenced Uri’s drawings, paintings and artworks. Uri’s work has been exhibited in major galleries and museums throughout the USA, Europe, Middle East and Japan. His art proficiency has also been demonstrated by his unique designs for singers such as N*sync, Belinda Carlisle and Michael Jackson. More recently Uri designed and launched a limited addition range for Poole Pottery and ‘decorated’ his cherished custom-built 1097 Cadillac with over 5,000 piece of twisted cutlery in a piece of art known as the ‘Gellar Effect’. The talented Anne Grgich, one of the most creative and inventive American self-taught outsider artists, is also to exhibit her work at Inspired Art - London’s first dedicated self-taught and outsider art event. Anne will also be attending the event in person. Seattle-born Grgich has become famed for the honesty in her work alongside a creative drive that helps her employ different techniques – from the dexterous use of texture to wooden puzzles, enormous canvas paintings and detailed pen drawings. Her unique work includes one-of-a-kind books filled with page after page of faces and figures, surfboards and portraits of ‘people from the inside out’. As a renowned artist her work is collected across the globe. Her work has been showcased on both sides of the Atlantic including galleries such as the American Visionary Arts Museum; TAG Art Gallery in Nashville; London’s Henry Boxer Gallery and Yard Dog, Texas. An example of Anne’s work alpha is attached and available in electronic format. Jo George, founder of Inspired Art and a London-based self-taught artist said, “We’re honored and delighted to have an artists of Anne’s and Uri’s caliber and standing attend this year’s event. The work is breath-taking and can be viewed in our gallery www.inspired <http://www.inspired/> artfair.com.
