The
'Trans Europe Express' European music festival will be calling in at The
ICA on the 10th and 11th October. A veritable smorgasbord of cross-continental
club sounds, the festival will bring together leading DJs, live acts,
labels and audiovisual artists from all corners of the continent.
Friday
sees The Glimmer Twins (Culture Club, Belgium) make a rare UK DJ appearance
alongside Solar House (Guidance, Scotland) and Ben Horn (Voodoo Recordings,
Denmark), both of whom will be playing live. DJ support will come from
Zak Frost (Afro Art, UK) and, in the bar, Headman (Relish / Switzerland)
and Daddy Ad (Jockey Slut, UK).
Saturday
sees live turns from T. Raumschmiere (Mute, Germany), Transparent Sound
(Orson, UK) and Debasser (Mute/Wide, UK). On the turntables will be Guglielmo
Mascio (Nu Funk Klan, Italy) and Circus Love (Perverted Science, UK) whilst,
in the bar, Bjørn Torske (Tellé, Norway), Red Astaire (GAMM,
Sweden), Freddie Cruger (Jugglin' / Sweden) and The Executives (Nine2Five
Recordings, Finland) will be bringing a breath of fresh Scandinavian air
to proceedings. Audiovisual art from Specimen (Blacktronica VJ, UK) will
transform the main room throughout the festival.
