October at the ICA

Crikey Charlie, October at the ICA is choccarama with live music... and a top act has now be confirmed: Keane on Oct 13.

Mon 13 Oct, 7.30pm - 11pm
Club Fandango & Fierce Panda Present KEANE plus Grand Transmitter and Cablecar "There's no cluttersome guitars here, no half-baked slogans - just tremulous voice, piano-synth and drums - and it's this clarity that's Keane's greatest strength," NME
"So beautiful and perfectly formed are their songs, the band seem destined for greatness... frontman Chaplin's choirboy-like voice is a beguiling blend of Harry Nilsson, Eric Carmen, Chris Martin and Fran Healy" Sunday Times.
The rush of euphoria, the moment of ecstatic delight that makes life on this warped planet seem reasonable, is a moment to cherish and savour. Flicking through another month's bands, all vying for a space, a song wafted out of the speakers and a room full of excitable people just... stopped, ended that moment's chore, and turned towards the sound. A brief second passed, followed by the scrum to get to the front. Hastings' three-piece Keane are a cocktail of Coldplay, Puressence and A-ha all rolled into one bite-sized chunk. Everybody is going to like this.

We are pleased to confirm that Stephen Frears will be 'in conversation' here at the ICA on Thursday 16th October at 6.30pm, as key note speaker for Amnesty International's DJ Saved My Life events (at the ICA from 14-18 Oct). Also confirmed, a screening of the film Woodstock, The Lost Performances, at 10.30pm on Wednesday 15th October. Unfortunately the film, Shottas will not be screened on Saturday 18th October. This was due to show at 10.30pm.
