Exhibition
13th June to 18th June 2005 Private View Tuesday 14th June 6pm-9pm
This exhibition brings together three artists whose work encompasses
drawing, painting and sculpture. Unique to this show is site-specific
sculpture, and a film of the artists working in the studio with a male
dancer. Diverse as the artists are, drawing is their shared experience,
a vehicle to explore their individual approaches, connecting their interest
about form, space and design- it informs their individual expression.
Julie
Leonard ˆ Painter
She attacks her canvas with lavish amounts of paint, and injects the
wildness of the ocean into her figures, whilst giving her seascapes
a human quality. Ever changing, always challenging.
Annabelle
Brotherton ˆ Painter
The strength of the work is in her mark making, where her line takes
on an energetic spirit with a mind of its own, determined to take off
from the page itself in her search for a new language.
Rebecca
Nassauer ˆ Sculptor/ Painter
A sculptor with a talent for adapting found objects into provocatively
theatrical, yet humorous pieces. Specially created works for the gallery
make this a unique show.
The accompanying
film of the artists working in the studio, by Deborah May, gives viewers
an opportunity to observe drawings evolving before your eyes.
