Information August 2004 “Around the world in 120 ways at Earth from the Air!” The Scottish premier of the Earth from the Air exhibition can now be seen at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, situated in the Palm House/Fossil Courtyard area, as part of the UK National Tour. This is a free, open-air exhibition and further details about this exhibition can be found at www.earthfromtheair.com.
Earth from the Air features 120 photographs by celebrated French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Earth from the Air captures the characteristics and patterns of the natural world from a unique aerial perspective, providing a unique record of the state of our planet today. Camels crossing the Sahara desert, the Twin Towers on New York’s skyline, Mount Everest and the frozen landscape of the Arctic Circle are some of the breathtaking sights that Arthus-Bertrand has captured. 30 of these images are now displayed as tactile panels with Braille descriptions, designed especially for blind and partially sighted visitors.
