TIME OUT / PORTRAITS

TIME OUT / PORTRAITS
PHOTOGRAPHY FROM THE TIME OUT ARCHIVE
MARCH 19TH – APRIL 2ND

For over thirty years the front cover of Time Out has been a familiar weekly feature on every London street corner and in every newsagent window. This March, for the first time, Time Out’s classic photography will take centre stage in a new exhibition: Time Out/ Portraits, at the Tom Blau Gallery.

Featuring 25 iconic celebrity photographs from the last ten years Time Out / Portraits includes such internationally renowned names as David Beckham, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Jessica Parker, Keira Knightly, Robert Downey Jnr, Michael Stipe and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Taken by such established photographers as Brian Griffin, Perou, Frank Bauer, Ophelia Wynne and Barry J Holmes, Time Out / Portraits combines some of London’s best photographers with some of its most influential residents and visitors resulting in an exhibition which offers a unique cultural snapshot of London.

A London institution, Time Out provides a platform for an extraordinarily diverse collection of artists, writers, actors and musicians that have either lived in or passed through our capital - providing a weekly window into the very heart of London’s cultural landscape.

“Time Out has been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry,” comments Chris Hemblade, Time Out. “The magazine’s archive of the last decade serves as a surrogate Who’s Who of the arts and entertainment community. Narrowing the portraits down has been a difficult task, but the final exhibition highlights our very best photography – the pictures reflect much of what makes London one of the most exciting cities to live in the world.”

AUCTION TO BE HELD IN AID OF WARCHILD
All photographs included in the exhibition will be auctioned through silent auction for the duration of the exhibition on behalf of Warchild - providing a unique opportunity to take home a piece of London’s cultural history. Bidders will also be given the opportunity to bid for the complete collection.
