Danny Boyle's ability to creep the audience out strikes again with 28 days later. The sci-fi is set in post-apocalyptic London after a virus has wiped out most of the population. A virus that locks those infected into a permanent state of killing rage, is accidentally released from a British research facility. Carried by animals and humans, the virus is impossible to contain, and spreads across the entire planet. Twenty-eight days later, a small group of survivors are trapped in London, caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected. A bewildered bicycle courier wakes up in a hospital bed to find the entire city deserted. As they attempt to salvage a future from the apocalypse, they find that their most deadly enemy is not the virus, but other survivors.

Producer Alex Macdonald claims the story is so compelling that stars are not needed to make this a hit. The $15-million feature is written by The Beach author Alex Garland and will be directed by Danny Boyle. The Cast include Christopher Eccleston; Brendan Gleeson; Megan Burns; Naomi Harris and Cillian Murphy
