LACHAPELLE: PHOTOGRAPHS

This
is the first British exhibition of the fashion and portrait photographer,
David LaChapelle. LaChapelles unique collections of surrealism and kitsch
images have changed the direction of fashion and portrait photography
over the past decade. His popularity has been largely fuelled by working
with some of the most famous people in the world. Pop stars like Madonna
and Britney Spears actor's sports and supermodels like Alexander McQueen,
Naomi Campbell and David Beckham.
His
work is truly fantasy and he shows us the famous and the fashionable as
we have never seen them before. LaChapelle's work has been commissioned
by leading fashion and lifestyle magazines, including I-D, The Face and
Vanity Fair. His most famous work has been commissioned by American music
bible Rolling Stone.
LaChapelle: Photographs has been organised by Barbican Art and KunstHaus
Vienna in collaboration with David LaChapelle's studio and Tony Shafrazi
Gallery, New York.
