YOU
LIKE ME
New work by Nina Beier and Marie Lund.
YOU LIKE ME is a new exhibition at M+R showing the photographic
book project YOU LIKE ME alongside other recent pieces made in
collaboration by the Danish artists Nina Beier and
Marie Lund, from the Royal College of Art in London.
The
exhibition YOU LIKE ME is about longing to belong.
The two artists explore the social and spatial relationships
between individuals and their context, using their
relationship to each other and to their environment
as the foundation of the stories they tell.
In
the book, the two artists went through the process of
comparing all their clothes to tell a story of individuality
and kindred-ship. In another project, they attempt to
camouflage themselves by wearing clothes that match the
surroundings resulting in a very lonely universe.
Nina
and Marie show us their poetic, subtle view on the world
through films, objects, drawing, text, music and photography.
They play with the relation between the staged and the
documented in an intimate universe of fragile identity confronted
with a world overloaded with objects and meanings.
Nina
Beier and Marie Lund exhibit at M+R from the 5 15 February.
The
book YOU LIKE ME will be launched at the private view
and will be sold in selected bookshops.
