>>> TRANS EUROPE SUCCESS! >>>

Thanks to everyone who reached our second Trans Europe Express last weekend. Over 1,500 people came to Cargo for our second two-day festival of underground club sounds which featured sets from the crème de la crème of the continents’ emerging DJs and live acts, including:

The Xploding Plastix boys from Norway, who delivered a fantastic, floor-filling carnival of cut’n’paste sounds.

BoxSaga who, with a little help from punk-funkers Spektrum and Edwin Laliq, got the party started on Friday night with their mix of Casio-funk and electronic r’n’b. Lola’s stunning take on ‘Computer Love’ was a highlight.

Scandinavians S.U.M.O. and their four-piece band who brought sun-kissed Afro-house vibes to the party.

DJ TLR the Dutch Italo-disco maestro who’s Saturday-night sets of alien electro blew everyone away. “My favourite London appearance so far,” he said of the event.

And fellow Italo boy Bangkok Impact, whose live performance went down so well we let him play for an extra twenty minutes!

And not forgetting Church Of Carbon, Transparent Sound, XFM’s Nick Luscombe, Guglielmo Mascio and G-HA & Olanskii, who also delivered excellent performances throughout the weekend, and designers Syrup Helsinki, whose bespoke visuals provided the technicolour backdrop to TEE’s cross-continental soundtrack.

Big thanks to main sponsors Casio for all their help, Jockey Slut and XFM for their sterling support, the Great Eastern Hotel for their kind hospitality and the Finnish, Swedish, Netherlands and Norwegian Institutes for their own assistance.

Thanks to Sam Frost for his excellent photography of the event (see below for a few small examples).

And finally, thanks to all the press and radio people without whom the event wouldn’t have been the unprecedented success it was.

The Trans Europe Express party train pulls back into London in May 2005. In the meantime, we’ll be doing some smaller, one-off parties in the UK and heading across Europe for a string of events throughout 2004, details of which will be announced very soon…
