Artist Statement:

Evoking historical connotations via the rich storytelling ethos connected with women and storytelling circles, my work takes on the form of tapestry, weaving myth, femininity, sexuality and relationships. All become a Personal Mythology.

The focus on a mythological past, incorporating such stories as lost love and suicide, the trapped wife - torn between mother and husband - forced to live a dual personality, and women who are transfixed by their own image, still proves equally relevant for the modern woman. Ever valuable for the analysis and representation of woman, the story takes on forms of truth that would not necessarily be uttered if based in reality.
