Artist Statement

I see film as a visual tapestry interweaving visions, mythology and storytelling with popular and sub cultures.  each film like a postcard - they exist as a fixed time, sometimes a beautiful place other times an ugly place often both, like a postcard they hold personal attachment as well as a picture for others to enter into.
All three films do not have a logical structure however, its as if the work develops its own type of logic, the way dreams have logic. Relating to the self, innermost fears,day-to-day experiences, TV, cinema, the subconscious- exposed. Allowing the work to be as surreal, absurd, decadent, colourful, vulgar, and  indulgent as possible, it is an unrestricted space. A fantasy space.

Influenced by b-movies with their low budget unrealistic sets, props, outfits etc. through bad acting and the artificial something real is revealed, might just be that the person is bad at acting, but it is real, there’s truth in bad acting, there’s something beautiful about someone passionately failing, this is what I am constantly trying to capture that moment I or someone is successfully failing or dethroning the serious, celebrating the artificial, the clichés etc…
