Ian Scholefield Artist Statement Ian’s work contains strong links to his background as a printer. Alongside his canvas pieces in his portfolio, he incorporates such materials as old fibre wood and pallet tops, often painting directly onto the bare wood. This material contains history in itself; a missing corner, a scratch or a groove, which Ian utilises, works into and enhances. The paintings develop a trashy, urban style, blending graffiti, typography and electric, fluorescent colours; reflecting the chaotic world in which we live.
