Artist Statement

I was born in Wales and is now living and working in London. I graduated from Central St.Martins MA course in Fine Art. My current body of work encompasses painting, photography and graphics.

The paintings are on MDF board with gloss paint on an eggshell background. There is a play between surfaces. They are carefully blown up images . The gloss paint is built up through a series of manipulated layers, as if transported straight from a pot of household paint, which then glides across the picture surface. The surface sheen of the paintings almost gives a sense of an advertisement in play, fusing artistic and household materials and employing bold striking colours.

I am also the Director/Curator of www.purelypainting.com , which I began working on in October. It is a site that specialises in Contemporary paintings.
