Personal Statement:
My painting starts with seeing & absorbing. I use a restricted
palette and it hopefully resonates with my visceral self. Special influences
are American Expressionists & Russian Supremists. Prime concerns are
light, space, positioning of shape & colour, to make something new
to look at. I work with no justification. There is no message, opinion,
assertion or information. The aim is to achieve simplicity out of a complex
process in context of the 21st Century.
