Artist
Statement: 'I think
that everything is happening all the time, and that the only reason why
we think of time linearly is because we are conditioned to do it. I think
of time as a constant, a spherical constant.' Just another landscape artist? Approaching landscape from a fresh angle, I combine my interest in maps with that of abstraction, colour and form. The work investigates how rural and urban areas can be, and often are, edited into one image to produce a landscape based on both reality and memory thus becoming a unique cross-section personal to me. This bringing together of elements of the real and the remembered, along with his personal experiences and affinity for the area, intrinsically become important aspects in the work. Certain places and times can take on special meaning or folkloric significance, and it is these that I strive to represent in my paintings.
