Artist’s Statement:

Doll-like images. Perfect. Preserved. Removal of imperfections. Creation of flat, clean surfaces.
Sorting and tidying. Simplifying. Clearing my mind.
Less muddled; less cluttered.

Explorative. Explanation. Unravelling. Obsession. Pattern. Order. Making sense in chaos. Security.
Pattern of the body. Flesh, humanity, reality. Microbiology. The body as matter. Hair. Blood. Cells.
Tissue. Structure. Pattern. Skin creases. The nervous system. Gray’s Anatomy. Fingerprints. Identity.

Dolls as a miniature version of the self. Small. Can be kept safe, protected. A little girl with pink
ribbons shares afternoon tea with her dolls.
Innocence.

Create dolls. Breathe life. Power of creation. Garden of Eden. Creation of Perfection.
