Artist Statement:
Mark James is a London based photographer, specialising in fine art and reportage photography. Mark's current project, The Anonymous Body Project, samples of which are attached, features non professional and often first time female models in nude or partially nude poses. The theme of the series was that no models' faces would be shown. The inspiration for this was the principle that it is not nu dity as such that people are often inhibited about, but that they can be identified: this is the reason that many people have no inhibitions about being naked or topless on a beach packed with thousands of strangers, but would be horrified if a colleague or neighbour saw them undressed.
