Artist
Statement:
Matthew Hull is an
up-and-coming illustrator/animator challenging the boundaries of disciplines
for inspiration. Combining handmade, traditional and digital techniques
to approach his subject matter with an individual outlook. Recent work
has focussed around conceptualising and communicating the mind through
animation and illustration, using theories in psychoanalysis as a starting
point to his image making. Creativity is to the utmost importance as he
looks to experiment with the combining of materials, theories and ideas
to create these distinct pieces.
Currently approaching
the end of his BA honours course in Illustration at Bournemouth Arts Institute,
he is looking to study part time MA course to progress in self authored
Illustration, produce a publication and pursue freelance work. Matthew’s
work has featured in a variety of online exhibitions and recently showcased
in Mayfair, London.
