Artist Statement Ravinders work is heavily inspired by Anglo-India and the multi-cultural vacuum left by decolonisation. Her images are complex and multilayered, combining art, philosophy and semiotics and poetry in ways which, at first glance, can seem chaotic – often masking the precise nature of their creation.
Ravinder has abandoned the photorealism and optical illusions often present in digital art and instead has embraced age old traditions such as collage and lithography, dragging them kicking and screaming into the 21st centaury.
Ravinders work is often displayed in sculptured way, incorporating light, sound and elaborate frames and boxes. These displays provide a kinetic feel to the pieces and help de-materialise the spaces they are in. For sales, commissions and to send comments to the artist.
