Artist Statement

My work comments on current social issues; I am especially inspired by the advance of technology and its effects on society. Evocative concepts are communicated through the integration of text, along with the incorporation of metaphor and symbolism. I combine traditional collage and hand-drawn elements with digital skills to create contemporary illustrations. Subjects I have worked on include surveillance in society, consumerism and genetic engineering of humans. After recently graduating with a BA honours degree in Illustration, I am aiming to do freelance work for editorial and publishing markets.
