Artist Statement:

Issues surrounding mental illness have been a predominant factor in my work for sometime. There is a stigma attached to people who are mentally ill which they can not seem to shrug off. This is not helped by constant bad
press by the media. I want to challenge this stigma within my work by making people consider their own fears when viewing my work.

By using a slide projector as the means of creating and displaying my work, I am able to create an image that does not physically exist. This is parallel to fear, which only exists in our minds, however it still remains
real to us. My work is an exploration of self control and restraint when faced with our worst fears.
