Artist Statement

I have recently graduated from University College Northampton where I gained a first degree honours in Product Design (Bsc).

Iris, is a child tracking and location device, which moves away from the existing child tracking and location devices on the market, which use GPS(global positioning satalites). Iris uses 3g technology ( third generation mobile phone technology) which enables a video link connection between mobile phones. Iris has four functions to help track and locate your child.

Proximity Alarm: alerts the parent when the child has walked out of perimeter, which is adjustable (5/20 feet).
Speech: Parent can speak to their child and the child can talk back to the parent.
Video link: Shows the parent the child's surroundings, parent can see what the child sees.
Ariel illumination: Parent can see the child when the child is lost in a crowded place, the camera extends and flashes.
Iris is used to help keep a closer eye when the parent is shopping or on day outings etc.
