Artist Statement:
My work is
inspired by movies, television and mass media. In my work I attempt to
reconstruct the content and implications of popular imagery, by blurring
the boundaries of genre and context. By remixing movie stills, advertising
and other printed media that we are bombarded with in our everyday lives,
I hope to give a new perspective to the banal and the glamorous. Recently
I have also started to work in abstract, as a way of exploring my love
of colour and symmetry, and give myself the opportunity to work outside
the boundaries of concept and meaning.
