Statement:
My work is inspired by nature in its organic forms, from
the simplest organism to an endless landscape. The key features of my
art come from my travelling, especially in Australia and Britain. In Australia
there is an inspirational array of land forms, from the rough coast, to
the peaceful baked outback. The colours range from the multicoloured Great
Barrier Reef
to the fiery red hot of the central region, in places such as Ayers Rock.
Britain has contrasting green and other fresh colours. The countryside
in the South, where I was brought up, consists of peaceful rolling hills,
a patchwork of fields. In the North, where my roots are, there is a more
rugged landscape, especially the mighty Pennines hills and the bleak moors.
In the future I intend to continue with art. Including working in the
fields of ceramics, painting and digital art. I would like to set up a
studio with friends. I would like to be involved in education, teaching
children and
adults. I hope to travel the World including Australia, New Zealand, India,
and explore the rest of the British Isles.
