John
McLean’s exuberant abstract paintings
are fluidly handled in rich earth tones and
vibrant primaries. There is often a strong,
punctuating motif reminiscent of late Matisse.
While
Wragg's paintings share with De Kooning a preoccupation
with spontaneous, vigorous mark making, he is
also impressed by the exact and carefully composed
formal structures of the Old Masters.
How
to find the Vinopolis
Vinopolis is situated overlooking the river
on Bankside, close to Southwark Cathedral, Shakespeare's
Globe and Tate Modern.
Tube
Vinopolis is just a few minutes walk from London
Bridge tube station (Northern & Jubilee
Lines). Take the Borough High Street WEST exit
to top of stairs, turn right into Stoney Street,
first left into ParkS treet and follow the road
round to the Vinopolis entrance.
