I
was born in Russia in 1968. After graduating from a St.
Petersburg high school in 1983 I studied interior design
in Rerikh (former Serov) Art College (St. Petersburg, Russia,
1983-1987).
From 1990 until 1998, after military service, I worked in
theater and cinema, participated in exhibitions of St. Petersburg’s
movie artists. In 1998-2000 I lived in Germany as a freelance
artist.
Since 2000 I live in Umeå, Sweden, where I work as
an art teacher.
I have always been especially interested in paintings as
a part of interior as well as book illustrations. This interest
stimulated a search for solutions for most expressive color
contrasts, which eventually resulted in strong personal
preferences for black and white color combinations. My works
are inspired by a variety of art forms and styles. I experiment
with different genres, while trying to maintain the integrity
of my own style.
