My
name is Roger Pedrick and I think that I ought to tell you
a little about myself first so please be patient!
I
sustained an horrendous motor-racing accident at Brands
Hatch some 25 years ago which left me paralysed as a quadriplegic.
I
was stuck living in a hospital for 5 years and have for
the past 20 years been living an independent life with a
various “troop” of carers. Although not an ideal
life it is far, far better than living in an institution.
Usually
I will paint for a couple of hours nearly everyday and this
somehow seems to give me a wonderful release from day to
day problems which is a fantastic benefit to my outlook
on life which remains positive and progressive.
My
paintings are done with brush held between my teeth and
I use a special machine that holds my canvases and spins
the paintings so that I can reach the whole canvas.
As
you will notice that most of my paintings are really colourful
and I will hardly ever copy anything because I just let
the brush flow and my mind does the rest! I love stimulating
my mind by using vivid colours and unusual brush strokes
and you will also notice that I have never been taught which
creates my unique style.
Love
Roger Pedrick
