Katherine
Calil presents her series of photographs and light boxes for Private View.
Born in London 1975, recently graduated from Middlesex University (BA
Fine Art). Working with a variety of subjects, she is interested in using
photography to play with the stereotypes that are often redefined by the
subjects. Colour, contrast, light and the developing process all contribute
to the final product.
Taking
something real: the subject and turning it into something else real: the
object (the artefact). The images take on a sensuous quality of their
own that is no longer directly related to that of the subject itself.
